Mint Records Selects RightsFlow for Outsourced Mechanical and DPD Licensing

Posted in News

New York, NY, Sept. 22, 2008 – Mint Records, one of the top independent record labels in Canada, has signed with RightsFlow, a one-stop solution for mechanical and Digital Phonorecord Delivery (DPD) licensing, to handle their outsourced licensing needs.

For Mint Records, whose roster includes artists such as Neko Case, The New Pornographers, Immaculate Machine, The Organ, and Pack A.D., working with RightsFlow services a need to license and pay music publishers on U.S.-based sales through online retailers such as Apple iTunes, eMusic, AmazonMP3 and Rhapsody.

“It’s great that there is finally a service that makes it easier for non-U.S. based labels to license and account to U.S. copyright owners,” stated Kevin Beesley, co-owner of Mint Records. “The agreement with RightsFlow allows us to continue focusing on what’s important – making and marketing our artists’ music.”

“Our clients look to us to provide a simple, turnkey solution for mechanical and DPD licensing and royalty payouts for U.S. publishing,” stated Alex Holz, Director of Client Relations for RightsFlow. “We are happy to work with Mint Records and excited to provide this service for them and their roster.”

RightsFlow’s outsourced licensing service utilizes the bulk licensing system of The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA), a leading U.S. music rights licensing organization, to ensure publishers and songwriters are properly compensated under U.S. law.
