Billboard: Download to Fight Hunger

EMI Music Group is joining forces with Blackstone Winery and RightsFlow to raise funds for World Hunger Year’s Artists Against Hunger and Poverty initiative. The charity initiative involves a Blackstone promotion that offers customers two free songs from more than 160,00 tracks provided by EMI. Each time a customer uses a redemption code to download the new music, Blackstone will make a donation to the WHY campaign. RightsFlow is managing the technology behind the program. Billboard: RightsFlow Signs Up Zebralution, X5

A couple of European digital aggregators have signed up to use RightsFlow for digital phonorecord delivery licensing and royalty services for the U.S. marketplace.

Berlin-based Zebralution, which serves as a digital distributor for independent labels, will use RightsFlow’s Outsourced Music Licensing system to handle DPD licensing to U.S. music service providers, and provide accounting and royalties back to Zebralution, which will offer those services to its labels.
