Duncan Hutchison, Music Industry Veteran Joins RightsFlow As Chief Content Officer
New York, NY, January 13, 2009– RightsFlow, a provider of licensing and royalty services today announced that Duncan Hutchison is joining the Company as Chief Content Officer overseeing the Outsourced Mechanical Licensing division. Hutchison, who comes to RightsFlow with almost 20 years of music industry experience will lead RightsFlow’s content acquisition division and will be responsible for building and managing the label & distributor groups signed to the company and for implementing its expansive growth plans in this area for 2009. Hutchison has an extensive music background working in senior management roles with music companies in both traditional and digital sectors: Caroline Distribution, Alliance Entertainment, K-Tel International, Sheridan Square Entertainment, Blackheart Records, Gray V, and WoozyFly.com

With a music business career spanning almost twenty years Duncan has achieved a considerable portfolio of both corporate and consultancy management successes. Starting as GM of the Virgin-owned subsidiary, Caroline Distribution, Hutchison became President of the company until 1994 when he left to become CEO of Alliance Entertainment’s independent distribution arm and created the label management division, AEC Label Development.
Duncan built several start-up label management entities including K-Tel International’s wholly owned third party distribution division, K-Tel Distribution in 1997 and Musicrama Distribution and Marketing, a proprietary marketing and sales division of Sheridan Square Entertainment in 2005.
More recently Duncan has expanded his knowledge and experience of digital content by consulting with core clients such as Gray V, a high-end public performance music service provider and WoozyFly.com a music media social network website. Duncan enjoys a long-term consulting arrangement with Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records Group.
