Billboard: Publishing Briefs, CDbaby To Use RightsFlow’s Limelight For Licensing Cover Song

RightsFlow, a provider of mechanical licensing services and royalty payment technology, will provide its Limelight system to CD Baby, an independent digital distributor, and Disc Makers, a CD and DVD manufacturer, so that its label customers can have an online clearance place to get licensing for cover songs and third party composition. Both CD Baby and Disc Makers will provide direct linkage and integration of the service within their user platform.

“Limelight will make it easy for artists to secure mechanical licenses for cover songs right when they get their CDs replicated or sold as downloads,” said Tony van Veen, president and CEO of Audio and Video Labs Inc., the parent company of Disc Makers, and CD Baby.
