RightsFlow’s President/CEO Patrick Sullivan To Participate In 10th Anniversary Future of Music Coalition Policy Summit

Posted in News

Washington D.C. (September 7, 2010) Patrick Sullivan, RightsFlow’s President and CEO, will be a featured panelist at the 10th Anniversary Future of Music Coalition Policy Summit (October 3 to 5; Washington DC).  The panel, scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th from 3:45 to 5pm in Lohrfink Auditorium, is entitled “Partly Sunny with a Chance of Fog: Forecasting Music in the Cloud.”

“I’m excited to be a part of the Summit as it is especially meaningful for us since we were a involved when we were starting RightsFlow,” commented Sullivan.  “It’s always been an extremely productive atmosphere for stimulating conversation amongst musicians, policymakers, technologists, and leading-edge companies at the cross-section of music, technology, and law.”

The “Partly Sunny with a Chance of Fog: Forecasting Music in the Cloud” panel description is as follows:

“Much of the recent chatter in the music/tech industry is the inevitability of consumers’ music collections being accessed and stored “in the cloud”. What would a cloud based service look like? Will there remote music lockers? Will it be streaming subscription services available on multiple devices? What are the licensing hurdles to getting there, and the compensation issues for content owners? Even more important, once all the recorded music is accessible, how do we extract value on the cloud? How do we get consumers to pay for it? And what are the implications for musicians? A panel of rightsholders, technologists and artist representatives will discuss the “cloudy” future of music access.”

Additional panelists include Brendan Benzing Chief Product Officer, Rhapsody, Peter Jenner Manager, Sincere Management and Vickie Nauman VP North America, 7digital. Others to be announced.
