Billboard: Australasian Societies Sign With RightsFlow

Brisbane, Australia – June 9, 2009 – Australasian Performing Right Association and sister organization the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society has struck a digital royalty collecting accord with RightsFlow, the N.Y.-based bulk mechanical licensing, royalty services and accounting provider.

The breakthrough agreement, announced today (June 9), means digital royalties owed to Australasian songwriters for transactions in the United States will be accounted for and paid through to the Australasian rights holders.

APRA|AMCOS And RightsFlow Enter Into Identification Agreement To Pay USA Royalties To Australian Songwriters and Publishers

New York, NY – June 8, 2009 – APRA|AMCOS – music copyright organisations representing Australian and New Zealand songwriters and their publishers – and RightsFlow, a provider of bulk mechanical licensing and royalty services, announced today an agreement that will allow RightsFlow to identify Australian and New Zealand works based upon their clients’ master record content. The project will ensure that digital royalties owed to Australian songwriters for transactions in the US will be accounted for and paid through to the Australasian rights holders.

Santa Monica, CA– June 8, 2009 – APRA|AMCOS, a group representing writers and publishers in New Zealand & Australia, has now tapped RightsFlow to help monitor and collect mechanical royalties on usages in the US.

Midem is now giving Midemnet a more prominent and integrated position, according to event organizers. The digital-focused Midemnet will still prepend the larger event, though mainline attendees will have access and digital aspects will expand. The action starts late January.
