Amie Street Taps RightsFlow for Canadian Licensing and Royalty Accounting Services

RightsFlow, a leading provider of bulk mechanical licensing and royalty services, announced a deal to handle Canadian royalty reporting for Amie Street, the fast growing online digital music retailer with a one-of-a-kind demand based pricing system.

RightsFlow will assist Amie Street by providing licensing and reporting services to CMRRA/SODRAC, Inc. (collectively known as “CSI”) on Amie Street’s behalf for downloads in Canada, as outlined in accordance with CSI’s Online Music Services Tariff, 2005-2007.

Billboard: Fit For Royalty- Muzak Secures Strategic Partnership With RightsFlow

New York, NY – May 23, 2009 – The royalty processing and licensing company RightsFlow has formed a strategic partnership with Muzak to help manage the latter’s licensing and accounting. RightsFlow, a New York-based company that launched in October 2007, will supplement the efforts of Muzak’s in-house licensing staff. The deal comes three months after the Fort Mill, S.C.-based Muzak, which provides music to 400,000 retail stores, filed Feb. 10 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

EMI Music Group is joining forces with Blackstone Winery and RightsFlow to raise funds for World Hunger Year’s Artists Against Hunger and Poverty initiative. The charity initiative involves a Blackstone promotion that offers customers two free songs from more than 160,00 tracks provided by EMI. Each time a customer uses a redemption code to download the new music, Blackstone will make a donation to the WHY campaign. RightsFlow is managing the technology behind the program. Billboard: RightsFlow Signs Up Zebralution, X5

A couple of European digital aggregators have signed up to use RightsFlow for digital phonorecord delivery licensing and royalty services for the U.S. marketplace.

Berlin-based Zebralution, which serves as a digital distributor for independent labels, will use RightsFlow’s Outsourced Music Licensing system to handle DPD licensing to U.S. music service providers, and provide accounting and royalties back to Zebralution, which will offer those services to its labels.
