Chris Potter Product Marketing Manager

Chris Potter brings a diverse and experienced skill set to the RightsFlow team, having honed his capabilities in numerous capacities within the publishing, distribution, technology and artist management sectors of the music industry.  In his role as Director of Marketing, Chris is responsible for aiding in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing programs for RightsFlow’s broad suite of services and products, including LimeLight, the company’s online cover song clearance utility.

Chris is tasked with engaging the company’s existing and prospective online community through myriad social media platforms, as well as instituting best practice web interaction through comprehensive metrics analysis.  He is also responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships with affiliate marketing partners and driving online interaction through SEO and SEM techniques.  Furthermore, Chris is actively engaged in developing informative, educational and relevant media content for syndication as it relates to RightsFlow, the company’s service and product offerings, and the state of the music industry in general.

Previously, Chris served as Director of Lifestyle Marketing and Web Services for The Orchard (a leading digital distributor of independent music content), where he oversaw lifestyle-based marketing campaigns for The Orchard’s roster of musicians.  During his Orchard tenure, Chris also played a vital role in the visualization and development of the company’s suite of artist-oriented online promotional and marketing tools.  Prior to his role there, Chris cut his teeth in the publishing industry as a contract and license specialist for Diamond Time, Ltd.  In addition, as an account manager for Rob Shore & Associates, Chris provided full-service business management for clients such as LCD Soundsystem, Wolfmother, Dream Theater, Battles, and K’naan.

Chris graduated with honors from Duquesne University with a B.A. in Sound Recording Technology and holds a M.A. in Music Business from New York University.  A songwriter, recording artist and producer on the local scene, Chris also performs frequently as front man for NYC-based 80′s rock cover band, The Fades.
