J Scott Hinkley Product Specialist

J Scott Hinkley brings an extensive background in digital mechanical licensing and royalty payout as well as content and database management to the RightsFlow team. As Senior Manager of Royalties, he oversees royalty operations, maintains label and publisher relations, develops streamlined processes within the department, and executes the integration of major accounts.

Prior to joining the RightsFlow team, J Scott was the Manager of Mechanical Licensing and Royalty Collections at The Orchard Enterprises, Inc a leading music distribution company located in NYC. He managed thousands of label and publisher accounts, administrating the entire mechanical process. While supervising a professional staff, both on-site and off, J Scott implemented a streamlined research, licensing, and royalty payout process for the company. In relation to royalty collections, he fortified relationships with royalty collection societies to gather digital and terrestrial performance royalties for thousands of label clients.

J Scott also owns a successful mobile audio recording service, Flat World Recordings, providing mobile, live, and mixing/editing services across multiple genres. Since 2003, he has worked with dozens of clients ranging from established solo artists and bands to full classical orchestras. Flat World Recordings is also an official sponsor of The Stoop Concert Series (link: thestoopny.com) in Midtown Manhattan where J Scott serves as the in-house sound engineer and Head of Operations/Technology.

J Scott earned an M.A. in Music Business from New York University and a Bachelor of Science (double major) in Business Administration and Music from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
